4. The Queen of the Sky

The wind was blowing on my face with great intensity, the breeze getting colder and colder the higher we got. I tried to glance over at Sean to see how he was managing but, I was afraid I would look down and scare myself.
Hold on…this place we’re going to is in the moon. Then…that’s means we’re…
“Luna! We’re going up to space aren’t we?” I yelled, trying to fight the force of the wind.
Yes…we are. Why? The thought entered my mind without me expecting it. I guessed it would be easier then yelling, so I joined along.
Well… we humans need certain equipment to survive space.
Oh, you think I don’t know? See, Sekaro and I can put up a magical barrier protecting you from the dangers of space. Luna flapper her wings strongly and gained more speed, pushing me back and almost making me loose my grip on her.
Oh! Ok! Well, how do I tell Sean that? Is there anyway I can talk to him this way? Luna didn’t reply but I saw her nod her head, so I closed my eyes and focused on Sean.
Sean…No reply. Sean! I still didn’t get a reply so I focused back on Luna.
Luna…he isn’t answering.
Think harder…Back to Sean.
Sean!!! I looked over to Sean and saw him flinch; he obviously got it but didn’t know what was going on. I sighed and continued.
Sean, its Drake. I’m talking to you telepathically, just answer back in thought. I waited for a reply while holding on for dear life and hoping I wouldn’t fall off. The sky became clearer as we passed through the clouds, leaving me soaked and freezing.
Uh…Drake? It was Sean, he figured it out. I smiled in relief and gave out a long exhale.
Yes Sean…it’s me. I need to tell you something.
What? How are we doing this?
Don’t worry about that, just listen. We are going to the moon you know that, right?
Yes. His voice stammered.
Okay, well Sekaro and Luna plan on putting up a barrier around us so we don’t get harmed by spaces effects. I shivered while explaining, and that’s when I realized that I felt that pain. I remembered back the day my mom kicked me out of the house, when I ran into the woods and the rain fell on me. That day I felt nothing but now I actually felt something. What did this mean? Did this mean that the whole in me was beginning to fill up? Are these dragons helping me more that I think?
I don’t like that idea, Drake! Sean’s voice was loud and broke my thoughts, he obviously was afraid or didn’t quiet come to trust his dragon like I did Luna.
Sean it’s fine I need you to trust them, well at least Sekaro. It’s really complicated right now all I can say is hold on tight and believe. Bye! I didn’t mean to sound so intimidating but I was focused on finding out what was going on. I needed to In order for that miracle to happen, my main goal now was to be whole.
The cold picked up along with the wind, I could now see the moon more clearly. It was getting bigger every flap of the wings and I was actually excited now, the fear of falling subsided temporarily and I began to get used to the wind beating my face forcefully.
We’re almost there…It was Luna and she picked up speed causing me─again─to fall back and loose grip. Just hold on and close your eyes, you might get scared looking at space. I laughed at that, I wasn’t scared I was excited and relieved all at once. I couldn’t wait to be in space and experience life off of earth. I began to slowly turn my head back and look down, but I wasn’t sure if I was entirely ready for that adrenaline. Was I or was I not? I had to take my chance and so I did, I turned my head and looked back at the land and water on earth that began to diminish. It was more striking than I imagined, the water looked so crystal-clear blue and the land looked so green. The wind-this time- felt so good and soothing, it almost put me in a daze.
You enjoying the breeze, aye? Sekaro said, mocking the British accent.
Yeah, it’s nice. How much farther till’ we reach the moon? My voice cracked in excitement.
Well…look! He told me, and I did. I whirled my head around and there it was the moon.
It looked so far, yet it was so close. Excitement and adrenaline encroached my body causing me to jitter here and there. The stars were so close as well I thought I could touch them.
How are the effects on you? Luna asked.
Good, nothing is happen-I was interrupted when we fully entered space, I was slowly lifting up from Luna’s back gently floating in mid-space. Well, does that answer your question? I heard her giggle while I glanced over at Sean, he too was floating.
“How you doing Sean? Ha-ha!” I couldn’t help it; he looked so astonished just floating there gently in the protective barrier. He shot a glare at me but didn’t hold it for long as he burst into laughter. Sekaro and Luna drifted slowly towards each other so close I could almost reach Sean.
Okay guys, I need you two to hold on to each other. This is your first time being exposed to this sort of magic, so you wont handle well separately. Luna explained as we closed in to the moon.
